AIGA’s suite of competitions is widely recognized as the most discerning statement on design excellence today, extending a legacy that began more than 90 years ago. By means of the competitions, AIGA creates an authoritative chronicle of outstanding design solutions, each demonstrating the process of designing, the role of the designer and the value of design. AIGA Atlanta founded the SEED Awards in 2005 to recognize design excellence specific to the Southeast region.

The selections in the biennial SEED Awards competition represent the best work across all disciplines of communication design and strategy from professional and student designers residing in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, as chosen by a distinguished jury of national design leaders. Winning submissions are exhibited, archived online at and and published in the SEED Journal.

Gold SEED Winners of professional entries produced in 2010 who maintain an active AIGA membership through the end of March 2011 will be offered the option of entry in 365: AIGA Annual Design Competition, paid for by the SEED Awards and at no additional cost for entry to the eligible winners.  (Winners selected for 365 will, however, be responsible for the 365 Production Fees, averaging $40-60.)
